Armed Forces Day, which offers the chance for people to show their support and salute the forces for all they do, takes place this Saturday (24 June).
Local AM Lesley Griffiths is a long-time supporter of the event and said: “Wrexham has a proud military tradition and Armed Forces Day provides the ideal opportunity for people to pay their respect and show their support to our military personnel.”
“The men and women who serve or have served in the Armed Forces often sacrifice so much for our freedom so it is vital we show our gratitude and recognise the vital contribution the armed forces community make to our country.”
Events are taking place across the country and Wrexham’s Armed Forces Flag is flying high until Sunday (25 June).
Since its launch in 2006, Armed Forces Day has been a huge success, providing the opportunity to raise awareness of the contribution made by those who serve or have served in the Armed Forces. It also offers the general public a chance to say thank you to the men and women who make up the Armed Forces community: from currently serving troops to Service families, veterans and cadets.
